The idea

One story, from the first curtain to the dragon.

Most party entertainment is a list: an hour of games, a character visit, a bounce house. Dragon Quest is built the other way round. It is one continuous story in five acts, and every game in it — the riddles, the archery, the tunnels, the gold hunt — moves the plot forward.

What your child gets to do

  1. Solve the gnome’s riddles
  2. Break the witch’s spells
  3. Aim a bow
  4. Crawl through secret tunnels
  5. Find the stolen gold
  6. Rescue the princess

Act I

The puppet theatre: the King and Queen need heroes

Every quest needs a reason to set out. Ours begins at a little puppet castle.

The curtain opens on the King and the Queen. Katya works the puppets; the King speaks in Anton’s voice. The royal couple have bad news: the dragon has been put under a spell, Princess Daniella is missing, and the kingdom needs brave helpers. By the time the curtain closes, every guest at the party has a mission.

Why it starts with puppets

A puppet theatre gathers the whole group in front of one small stage. Four-year-olds and twelve-year-olds hear the same story at the same moment — and from then on, everyone knows what they are playing for.

Act II

Get past the gnome at the gate

A grumpy gnome guards the road to the dragon’s realm, and he does not open the gate for just anyone. Anton plays him — beard, pointed hat and all.

Riddles

Before he even thinks about letting the heroes through, the gnome tests them with riddles.

A contest for the parents

Then the gnome turns to the grown-ups. There is a contest written just for parents, and for once the children get to cheer for their mums and dads.

One very funny group photo

Before the gate opens, the whole company lines up for a group photo — children and parents together.

Act III

Outwit Witch Kislyaya

Then the witch arrives. Witch Kislyaya, played by Katya, hisses and croaks her spells at the heroes.

No sword works against her. Her magic breaks only one way — with words.

Poems, songs and magic words

The children answer every spell with a poem, a song or magic words of their own. In this act the heroes’ weapon is their own voice.

What breaks her spells

  1. A poem
  2. A song
  3. Magic words

Act IV

Follow Merlin. Find the dragon’s gold.

Merlin the wizard — Anton again — tells the heroes which dragon they are dealing with, and what was taken from him: the dragon’s gold has been stolen.

Bows and arrows

The bows come out, and Merlin shows the young archers how to aim. Archery is part of every Dragon Quest; the bows you see in our photos are toy bows.

Secret tunnels

The road to the gold leads through secret tunnels, so the heroes have to crawl through and find their way out.

The team gold hunt

Then the hunt itself. The whole team searches for the stolen gold together: one treasure, won back by everyone.

Act V

Return the gold. Meet the dragon.

The heroes bring the gold back, and the spell breaks.

The dragon is a giant inflatable dragon, and he speaks in Anton’s voice.

A princess to rescue

With the spell gone, Princess Daniella is free — and it was the children who saved her. Katya plays the princess. If your child has been asking for a princess party, this is where the princess is: inside the story, not a separate character visit.

A gift from the dragon

Every child goes home with a gift from the dragon. It is part of the base program, so there is one for every young guest.

Around the story

Trampoline, giant bubbles and face painting.

Not every minute is plot. The base program also brings things to play with that need no script at all.

  • Trampoline

A large inflatable trampoline — the bounce house you see in our photos.

  • Giant bubbles

Soap bubbles big enough to chase across the whole lawn.

  • Face painting by the hosts

Dragon tattoos and stencils. For detailed full-face designs, a professional face painter is available as an add-on.

For parents

And the grown-ups?

Parents stay for the party and look after their own children; we run the show. Nobody hands you a script — but the gnome has a contest written just for parents, and nobody escapes the group photo.

Questions

What parents ask about the show.

Is Dragon Quest a princess party?
It has a princess in it. Princess Daniella is part of the story, and the children rescue her in the last act. It is a whole adventure rather than a visit from a costumed princess, so children who love princesses, dragons or knights all have something to play.
Is the dragon real?
The dragon is a giant inflatable dragon, and he speaks in Anton’s voice.
What ages is the show for?
Dragon Quest is written for children aged 4 to 12.
How long does it last?
Four hours, with all five acts. If you would like it longer, extra show hours are available as an add-on.
Can the show be in Russian?
Yes. The show is performed in English or Russian — tell us which one in your request.
Do parents stay?
Yes. Parents stay and look after their own children while we run the show, and Act II has a contest just for them.

Pick a date. The kingdom will be ready.

Tell us when, where you’d like to host and how many heroes are coming. Anton will put together your personal quote.
